1.1.3 The BPCS Supplier shall provide all necessary hardware and software to meet the technical and functional requirements of this specification. Additionally, system shall be capable of displaying Foundation Fieldbus (FF) instruments' health or diagnostic variables and displayed them in a clear manner so the Operator or Maintenance technician can take action faster. The BPCS shall also be able to communicate and configure Foundation Fieldbus (FF) certified instrument devices via H1 protocol. The system shall store proc ess information in electronic format for future access and review through the Operator Stations, Plant Information Network (PIN), and personal computers. The system shall also generate alarms to warn the operator of any system or process variable values which are out of limits the alarms shall be reported as timed messages on the screen displays and on the console printers, and stored in the history devices for future evaluation or printing.
